The new year begins with a growing economy and strong demand for manufactured goods, tempered by major challenges including shortages of workers and materials, the fastest inflation in 31 years, and ongoing effects of Covid-19. Helping us evaluate where the economy is headed will be Chad Moutray, Ph.D. Chad is the Chief Economist for the National Association of Manufacturers and Director of the Center for Manufacturing Research. Chad, one of the nation’s most respected and most quoted economists, has a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University. He joined AFS in 2011, after previously serving at the Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy.
