The AFS Copper Alloy Workshop is intended for everyone involved in casting of copper alloys.  Expert speakers will help attendees gain a better understanding of copper metallurgy, the composition of common casting alloy, and how the casting process affect casting microstructure and properties, with a focus on both traditional and non-leaded alloys. Analysis and prevention of common casting defect can have immediate application for foundry personnel. The melting process will be covered, with detailed information on refractories, furnaces, charge materials and the melting process. The workshop will also include presentations on implementing digital manufacturing and additive manufacturing in the copper foundry, and principles of project management. Speakers will present both beginning and advanced gating sessions. The seminar is geared towards foundry management, supervision and any foundry worker who wants to further their knowledge on copper-based alloy casting processes and help with finding solutions for the foundry.

Note: In the event this workshop is converted to a virtual seminar, registrations will be automatically converted to the new format.
