Among different industries, manufacturing ranks in the bottom 10% of all industry related to employee mental health issues and has the second highest rate of Substance Use Disorders. These concerns lead to performance, safety and retention problems for organizations. To ensure companies have a workforce prepared to meet the demands of the ever evolving foundry industry, they must be prepared to effectively respond to workplace mental health and substance use concerns. This session will provide background information on mental health and substance use issues in the workplace, and how to most effectively address these concerns at an individual and organizational-level.
