Second, ensure that the metal composition ranges of your spent sands match those listed for Product SC066, Spent Foundry Sand SDS. Finally, confirm that your sand matches the Chemical Names, Wt% ranges, and CAS Numbers for the sand described in the SDS. If the sand matches, then make your purchase.
A copy of the EPA document will be included. Foundries are obligated to provide alloy specific, accurate, and current Safety Data sheets (SDS) to their customers. OSHA requires that SDSs be reviewed and updated regularly. AFS has commissioned Keramida Inc. to revise and issue new SDSs in spring of 2019. These new sheets contain pictograms, new threshold limit values (TLVs), new state information and other OSHA requirements. For questions, contact estoreservices@afsinc.org.
