The 2018 Professional & Technical Salaried Report presents the results of the 2018 American Foundry Society Employee Compensation Study. The study analyzed 2017 compensation data submitted by the 97 participating North American companies.

The compensation data was collected and analyzed by Profit Planning Group in a confidential manner. For Salaried Professional and Technical Employees, it represents the average annual compensation for 15 positions. Benefits data in the following categories were also collected and analyzed separately for the salaried group.

  • ▪ Healthcare
  • ▪ Retirement
  • ▪ Time-off
  • ▪ Other Benefits
  • Additional data collected and analyzed includes: shift premiums, determination of bonuses, determination of raises, and severance.

The total sample was analyzed as a whole and in the following sub-set categories:

  • ▪ All firms
  • ▪ Sales Revenue <$6M
  • ▪ Sales Revenue $6M–$16M
  • ▪ Sales Revenue $16M–$40M
  • ▪ Sales Revenue >$40M
  • The results were tabulated and formatted into an Excel® spreadsheet, which, along with information on how the reports were tabulated, is in an easy-to-download zip file. This report is the first since 2013 to provide information important to industry management, and in greater detail than previous reports.
